To perform the software update, perform the following:
1. With the power switch in the OFF position, unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet.
2. Remove the Hopper Unit.
3. Remove the two screws that secure the Memory Card Cover.
4. Install the Memory Card.
5. Plug the power cord into the AC power outlet.
6. Turn ON the power switch. This will rewrite the data.
7. Wait until the touchscreen display shows DOWNLOADING COMPLETED.
8. Unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet. Do not turn OFF the power switch at this time.
9. Remove the memory card.
Note: Never remove or insert the memory card with the copier powered ON.

CAUSE: The transfer film was deformed at unpacking.
SOLUTION: If the transfer film is deformed, perform the following:
1. Remove and then reattach the transfer film.
2. Run several copies to verify image quality.
3. If the image quality problems persist, replace the transfer film (p/n 11UM20020).

PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Toner falling down to drawer connector of harness on toner supply. Install mylar film (p/n 11UM35110) and new style plate (25TU35091). See 7823

2. Dust is entering upper left cover. A new filter (p/n 11UM12010) has been established and affixed onto the upper left cover. See 7823 Technical Bulletin

Description
Intermittent fuser temperature codes.
Solution
CAUSE: Failure to clean the fuser roller thermistor and thermostat may cause a buildup that could cause intermittent fuser High/Low temperature codes and
generate unnecessary service calls.
SOLUTION: Clean the thermistor and thermostat each visit between 5K to 15K.
Note: To ensure the optimal operation of the 7823, perform the 7823 Service Call Checklist below:
Each visit or 5K, clean the following:
1. Oil regulating blade (p/n 1144-5803-05)
2. Oil collecting blade (p/n 1154-5852-01)
