Description
C3C00 or any code beginning with C3C.
Solution
CAUSE: C3C** codes are related to the banknote recognition unit, BRU. The BRU is the counterfeit prevention system (gold box) on PWB-C. The codes
related to this system are confidential and therefore not published in the technical manual. DO NOT insert or remove the BRU with the power ON and DO
NOT power ON the machine with the BRU removed. UNPLUG the AC supply to the machine prior to removing or inserting the BRU.
SOLUTION: Call the Konica Systems Solutions Group when a BRU failure code occurs.

Description
How to upgrade main body firmware (EPROM).
Solution
A utility for Windows* 2000 and Windows XP (p/n U192-0300) is available to replace the system made available in 7823/7832 Technical Bulletin 6. The new
utility enables a PC to program the same 8MB flash card (p/n U192-0200) or a 16MB flash card (p/n U192-0250) using the PCMCIA slot on the PC instead of
the Swap box. Refer to Tool Technical Bulletin 71A.
The old system, which is no longer available, can still be used for upgrading the main body software. The update is most likely to be necessary if a C3C**
code occurs after replacing the PWB-C board. Due to changes during the model run there are two levels of firmware that are serial number dependent. If you
have the serial number 11UN0**** then use 7823-01B.EXE file to flash your machine. If you have the serial number 11UN1**** then use 7823-024.EXE file to
flash your machine.
To perform the software update, perform the following:
1. With the power switch in the OFF position, unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet.
2. Remove the Hopper Unit.
3. Remove the two screws that secure the Memory Card Cover.
4. Install the Memory Card.
5. Plug the power cord into the AC power outlet.
6. Turn ON the power switch. This will rewrite the data.
7. Wait until the touchscreen display shows DOWNLOADING COMPLETED.
8. Unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet. Do not turn OFF the power switch at this time.
9. Remove the memory card.
Notes:
1. Never remove or insert the memory card with the copier powered ON.
2. The old PC Card Reader system is no longer available, but can still be used for upgrading the main body software.
